Members of Ambleside Cricket Club and Nuneaton Hockey Club recently joined forces to try each others’ sports by staging a charity cricket and hockey match. The matches raised £295 for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust in memory of Mike Farrall, a long and loyal member of the Ambleside Club.
Craig Stevens, Cricket Club Chairman said, “We are delighted to have raised some money in Mike’s memory and strengthened our relationship with the hockey club”. Nuneaton Hockey Club President, Pat Veasey echoed these sentiments, “Although we have shared the same excellent facilities at Ambleside for many years, this is the first time we have joined forces.
The matches were played in a great spirit of fun and sportsmanship and I hope we can make it a yearly event”. Both clubs would like to thank their captains, players and supporters for getting involved and for making the matches a big success.
