With the White’s currently enjoying a narrow lead, it was vital for the Greens to get a result. However, things didn’t immediately go to plan. The Whites started strongest and we’re soon pressuring the Greens defence. Some smart passing play from Isaac Hiatt and Alex Harcourt gave Charlie Baker a shooting opportunity which he slammed home in style to give the Whites the lead. With so much at stake, the Greens were soon back in the game. After a period of sustained pressure, Faaiz Vorajee picked up a loose ball and calmly slotted the equaliser. Vorajee found the net again 5 minutes later with a crisp deflection to give the Greens the advantage. Despite some valiant efforts from the White’s attackers, the Greens held on to record a historic result.

With all square again, the battle to win the 100 year old trophy continues.
