Greenfriars are back in the game.

With game 6 in the Centenary Challenge a ‘must win match’ for the remodelled Greenfriars team the pressure was on from the start. The Greens found the net quickly with debutant Luke Hudson opening the scoring. Despite good attacking play from the Whites, the Greens quickly found the back of the net again, twice in quick succession from veteran Lee Summers. 3 nil down at halftime, the Whites rallied and produced their best attacking play only to be caught on the break with young Fiaaz Vorajee slamming the ball home to make it 4. But the worst was still to come. Former Whitefrair Atticus Walton-Hayfield showed no sentimentality for his former team scoring a dramatic hattrick to seal the Whites’ fate. Whitefriars’ Captain Pat Veasey was philosophical in defeat, after all, his team still lead the series by 3 games and there are still plenty of matches left to play.
