Etone saw an epic inter club battle as 2 new badgers teams fought for supremacy.
The Greenfriars scored first through Aamir Lockhat-Clegg, a lead which they held till half time despite continued pressure from the Whites.
The second half saw the Whites push on with Jamie Whittle forcing an excellent save from Green’s keeper Matt Pearce. Atticus Walton-Hayfield eventually levelled the score with an cooly taken goal. The Greens responded and a period of end-to-end attacking ensued with both teams looking for that illusive winner. The deadlock was finally broken by an incredible long range pass from Steve Shipton which found Pat Veasey’s stick for a crisp deflected goal.
Captains Pat Veasey and Kev Chester we’re delighted with their teams especially with the youngsters who were playing their first, competitive men’s game and with the dad’s who stepped up to play to. The teams plan to meet again before Christmas so watch this space!
