2 contestants. One aim. To win gold on the BBC's virtual Olympic quiz.

One contestant was a top performing, elite athlete, known throughout the hockey world for skill and dexterity - the other was Helen Richardson-Walsh MBE.            (Ok, Helen may have 293 caps for Great Britain, a Gold medal, an MBE and two surnames, but Pat Veasey has a 25m swimming certificate,  a cycling proficiency badge and once got a prize for full attendance at school - I think we all know who the real winner is here!)

Back to the action.

The two went head-to-head on the BBC's virtual Olympic Games. Every Saturday morning, titans of the sporting world clash in a 4 question, multiple choice quiz - Live on the BBC.

Richardson-Walsh started strongly but it was Veasey who led the field at half time 2-1.
But in a recovery reminiscent of her 2016 Olympic final, Gold medalist Richardson-Walsh took the lead.

Needing to score his final point to force extra time, Veasey managed to get half a point by correctly identifying one of the two mascots from London 2012. (Bet you couldn't get that without google!)

So the final results were,  Helen Richardson-Walsh with 3 points and another Gold and Pat Veasey with 2.5 points and the wooden spoon.

In all seriousness, it was a pleasure and honour to meet Helen, even virtually, she is a icon of our game!
