Centenary Trophy 2019/20 : Game 1

Posted by Patrick Veasey on 26 October 2019

Nuneaton Hockey Club’s Centenary Challenge kicked off in dramatic style with a 4 - 3 win for the Whitefriars. The Whites dominated the first half with two excellent goals from young Issac Hiatt.      The Greens fought back hard in the second half to lower the deficit, but were narrowly beaten.

Both teams played with excellent spirit epitomised by the two goal keeping dads. Martin Kendal and Scott Denny deserve a special mention. Both players made their goalkeeping debut having never previously put on a kit! Some of their saves were remarkable and their attitude was an example to all. Well done Gentlemen! The two teams will meet again in December.
